A graduate-level course introducing modern methods for causal inference in economics, including difference-in-differences, regression discontinuity, synthetic control, and instrumental variables. Emphasizes applied empirical work and research design.

Health Economics

An examination of economic principles applied to health and health care, including the economics of health insurance, hospital and physician markets, pharmaceutical markets, and public health policy. Topics include the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, and the economics of substance use and mental health.

Race, Crime, and Incarceration Policy in the United States (Senior Seminar)

An economics seminar examining the causes and consequences of racial disparities in crime, policing, and incarceration in the United States. Students engage with empirical research and policy debates around policing reform, mass incarceration, and labor market outcomes for people with criminal records.
